John M. Colucci
- Department Chief
I was first introduced to firefighting while serving in the United States Navy from 1990 – 1994 during Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope, and Operation Southern Watch. At the end of my enlistment, I served as a volunteer firefighter in Carteret for two years before being hired by the Mount Laurel Fire Department in 1996 and later promoted to Chief of Department in 2011.
Prior to 2011, it was my honor to serve in the position of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, and Deputy Chief. During this time, with the support of my family and co-workers, I was afforded the opportunity to obtain my associate’s degree in Fire Science from Burlington County College, a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson (concentration in public administration) and I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Administrative Sciences.
My wife and I have been married twenty-four (24) years; together we have four beautiful children and have lived in Mount Laurel since 1996.
