Become A Volunteer
Being a volunteer firefighter can be a very rewarding experience. It offers you the chance to work with state-of-the-art equipment and a chance to experience the camaraderie involved with a community organization. We will provide all of your training as well as everything else that you will need as a member. The Mount Laurel Fire Department is constantly recruiting volunteers to maintain the quality of the services we provide to the community.
There are four different volunteer programs to choose from:
Active Firefighter:
For adults over the age of 18 and involves all firefighting duties.
Junior Firefighter:
Designed for young adults between the ages of 16 and 18. Entails developing skills used in everyday firefighting duties under the direction of fire officers.
Fire Police Officer:
Currently, the Mount Laurel Fire Department does not support a township based fire police program. Those interested in fire police should reach out to the Burlington County Fire Police Associations.
Explorer Program:
Designed for youth between the ages of 14 and 16. Entails developing skills used in everyday firefighting duties under the direction of fire officers.
Most importantly, you don't need to have any prior experience to join. All you need to have is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
